Nutri-balance Nutritional Consultant

Hello, my name is Jessica Johnson and I am a Southern girl through and through. As long as I can remember, nutrition has always been a part of my life. I remember big Sunday dinners after church and always helping my father cook every chance I got. Food has always intrigued me; not only did I love the way it tasted, or the way it smelled, but I loved the way food worked in the body. It amazed me to think that food could not only protect the body from so many chronic diseases but it could harm the body if abused as well. My love for food started early, but it wasn’t until college that I decided a career in dietetics was for me. After meeting with the faculty and staff at Georgia State University and doing some research concerning the field of dietetics, it was apparent that I was meant to become a dietitian.

In January of 2007 I graduated from Georgia State with a Masters degree in Nutrition and Science. In May of 2007 I passed my boards and became a registered and licensed dietitian. My philosophy on nutrition is simple. I believe with proper nutrition and lifestyle modification, ailments, such as obesity, heart disease, cancer, and diabetes, will no longer be the leading causes of death in our society. I think that nutrition, physical fitness, and behavior modification are the ingredients for health, wellness, and longevity. One cannot be obtained without the other.
Since entering the field, I have gained experience in renal nutrition, sports nutrition, teaching, and weight loss. My passion is helping others reach their wellness goals. No goal is too big or too small. If you are ready to make a difference, I will support you at every turn. Recently I have partnered with SFX, an Atlanta based gym and personal training facility that provides people with the resources and tools to achieve not only your fitness goals but your nutrition goals as well. The staff at SFX works as a team in developing a lifestyle plan that will benefit you and your needs. 

By adding dietary counseling to your workout regimen you can be self-assured that not only will you reach your goals, but you will sustain those goals through education and commitment for life. With all the misinformation saturating the media today, wouldn’t it be nice to have an expert on your side?
